Dear Mr. Vernon and Trent U board members,
As an alumnus of Peter Robinson College I wanted to express my dismay at the news that the board is considering scrapping the downtown colleges. The collegiate system at Trent prepared me well for my current life as a researcher at Cambridge University and I feel the downtown colleges represent a key feature of Trent's collegiate environment. I have always been a champion of Trent University and have been excited recently to see some of my former Trent professors collaborating with some of my Cambridge professors - but my enthusiasm and support for Trent would be shattered completely if the downtown colleges were done away with. I strongly encourage the board to reconsider this action and support the collegiate environment at Trent by supporting the downtown colleges.
