Dear President Patterson,
As an alumni of Trent University, I am quite shocked to receive news of a proposal to close Trent's downtown colleges of Catharine Parr Traill and Peter Robinson and to move their facilities to the main campus. What lead the Board of Governors and you as President to decide this was something to be even considered alarms me greatly. The downtown colleges are the very heart and soul of Trent.
I have no eloquent words to use and no swaying argument to try to convince you with. I can only say that this decision is quite possibly the worst in Trent's history. My donation dollars are on hold and may be permanently terminated by this extremely upsetting news. I anticipate and look forward to hearing that the application to the Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities has been denied.
