Letter from the Peterborough Downtown business Improvement Area (members, 530 downtown businesses) dated January 13, 2000 to President Bonnie Patterson, Trent University, copies to Mayor Sutherland and Members of Council.
Dear Ms. Patterson,
At the regular Board of Director’s meeting on January 11th,2000, the issue of the relocation of Trent’s downtown colleges was reviewed as requested by our downtown businesses. There is concern among many of our membership that the closing of these colleges will result in lost income for many businesses. The vitality and continued revitalization of the downtown is important to the Board of Directors and to our membership. We are concerned on behalf of our businesses that their livelihood is maintained and that this move will impact the downtown core. On behalf of the Board of Directors and the membership we represent we are expressing our concerns to you regarding this issue and we are looking forward to your presentation at our February 16th Breakfast Meeting.
Sincerely,
Tony Grady
