Dear Trent Action,

I attended Trent between 1986 and 1991. My student number was 860048960, and I was attached to Otonabee College. Let me make just two comments, the first to all concerned, the second to alumni and to Trent Action itself:

1. I adore the Nassau Campus, but attending a class downtown was like taking a breath of fresh air, like a trip to the beach, and I think studying in the different environment downtown made me a better and more motivated student.
2. Money talks, but only if used properly. If you want Trent Action to succeed, make all your alumni donations through Trent Action. Trent Action should set up a separate bank account and efficient, transparent accounting procedures. Alumni checks would be sent to Trent Action, which would be empowered to release all funds donated to the university, on condition that Trent's downtown colleges and college system are kept intact. Should Bonnie Patterson go ahead with her wrongminded strategy, all alumni monies donated would be refunded to donors. I believe that such a strategy, if well supported, would be very effective. I offer to make the initial donation (though my means are limited).
