Cluster benefits for Peterborough not "crystal clear" admits Ferkany
Denis Ferkany admits that he and the DNA cluster promoters have not been able to explain how project will benefit Peterborough.
And in another late breaking story - the world is round!
But seriously, the public has been asking Ferkany and Trent president Bonnie Patterson to reveal the facts that explain in detail exactly how the cluster will allegedly benefit Trent University and the Peterborough region. Ferkany deserves some credit for his frank admission (see article below). Perhaps the facts will now be fully revealed for the public to independently analyze and verify?
DNA Cluster adds partners
Peterborough Examiner - February 26, 2005, page B4
OurTrent Editor's note: In our opinion the headline is misleading. There are no new partners, and certainly no private sector partners - it's just that the regional boundaries have been widened to include two more municipalities.
Denish Ferkany, president of the DNA cluster, said the province is demanding a model where similar projects work seamlessly with economic development corporations within their regions.
Coun. Paul Rexe noted the provinces Places to Grow Act sees this region as including City of Kawartha Lakes and Nothumberland County. Ferkany agreed that's the case and said the cluster will have to start building relationships with neighbouring development groups.
In a presentation to the Greater Peterborough Area Economic Development Corp., Ferkany also admitted their message explaining how the cluster will benefit Peterborough wasn't "crystal clear".
